Shpalt Tefillin straps (retzuot) are made from the lower section of the hide. They are usually more grainy and of lesser quality. They are less costly and are used for the more Pashut Tefillin. They are not as long-lasting as the straps made from the upper hide.

Two straps are included, of width 14 mm / 0.55 in. The Hand Strap measures 4.5 m / 15 ft and the Head Strap measures 3 m / 10 ft.
