The long spiral Yemenite Shofars come from the kudu, a large striped antelope found in south or east Africa. For generation, the powerful long kudu horns were used by the Jews of Yemen for Shofars. Today, these are popular throughout the world.

One of the reasons for blowing the Shofar in the Synagogue on Rosh Hashanah is that on this day we commemorate the anniversary of the world when G-d created the universe. It is written that He formed man and blew into him the breath “of life” giving him the capability to become close to G-d by investing material objects with spirituality. This carries a vital message. When the hollow Shofar is blown and human breath of the one who blows passes through the cavity, it becomes transformed. It is no longer a trumpet but a Divine object capable of bringing Jews close to their Father in Heaven.

When purchasing this shofar you will receive our informative Shofar Guide with tips on blowing and caring for your shofar.

Excellent product and arrived quickly

6 notes!

After practicing blowing this shofar for a while, I tried my hand at blowing as many different notes as possible. With some extremely strenuous sounding and tightening of the lips, I was able to get a total of 6 notes out of it! Beautiful shofar with a beautiful sound. Recommend to everyone!

I've love it sho far (see what I did there?)

My previous review apparently meant to give this product 3 stars, but I correct that to give it 5! Yes, it smelled like death when I first got it, but the folks here at kindly sent me a free bottle of odor neutralizer which does its job very well! The shofar continues to amaze people, and although they sent me the wrong bag for it, I have grown to absolutely love that "wrong" bag. It's beautiful, and I couldn't have asked for a better product. I also recently bought a small child at my church a ram's horn for kids from this site simply because I know how great this site's products are. Also, he asks a lot of questions about the yemenite shofar displayed here that I blow to open up the worship services, so I thought he'd love it as a gift! Thanks, guys! I'll certainly purchase things from all of you in the future!

Great Sound. Dreadful Smell

So I got my shofar. Honestly, it was a little shorter than I thought it would be, but sounded gorgeous nonetheless. Against all odds, I ended up getting a shofar that smelled that smelled like Death itself. I also noticed a small hole in the shofar, but aside from those things, the shofar was beautiful. However, the bag I ordered was not the same one I got in the mail. I'll be sending it back in exchange for the correct one. It is for these reasons that I give this product 3 stars

Can't Wait!

I'm a young Christian from the US and I ordered this almost a week ago. Because the shofar represents the voice of the soon coming Messiah, I can't wait for this wonderful shofar to come in! I'm hoping it comes tomorrow. I'll update this post when the shofar and its awesome dark blue velvet pouch both arrive here! I can't wait to blow that tekiah gedolah I've been waiting to blow! Shalom :)

Super shofar

I had purchased this shofar a few months ago and I here to report that this horn is an absolute beauty. It is graceful and gorgeous in its design and color, and the sound is just impeccably clear and strong, I couldn't wished for a better shofar.
